Tran Bien Countdown: Behind the Scenes Heat Up with Lac Hong University Students

    The backstage atmosphere

In the days leading up to the Tran Bien Countdown, the backstage area has been in a state of constant activity. Sound checks, lighting demos, signal testing, and various technological devices are operating around the clock. Amidst this bustling environment, students and alumni from Lac Hong University (LHU) are directly managing several key technical and media components, contributing to the creation of a modern and professional community event.

Far from just providing basic support, these students have become an integral part of the production crew. Working long hours and coordinating closely across technical, film, and media teams, they ensure every stage of the project remains on schedule.

    Livestreaming and digital system operations

One of the core responsibilities undertaken by the students is the operation of the livestreaming system for the Countdown program. From setting up the broadcast system and verifying audio-visual signals to conducting trial runs and monitoring the entire preparation process, students are applying classroom knowledge to a large-scale, real-world challenge.

Livestreaming outdoors under crowded conditions with high stability requirements helps students better understand the vital roles of technical infrastructure, networking, equipment management, and troubleshooting. This serves as essential practical experience, significantly enhancing their professional expertise.

    Programming and laser mapping performances

In addition to livestreaming, students are directly involved in programming and operating the laser mapping for the Countdown stage. By utilizing code, visual data, and the event script, they transform technology into vivid lighting effects synchronized with the music and stage environment.

The process of testing, adjusting, and optimizing the laser mapping occurs continuously backstage. Students act as both technicians and observers, monitoring visual feedback to make real-time adjustments for the performance. This is a valuable opportunity for them to gain a deeper insight into the connection between programming, hardware, and audience experience, thereby expanding their technological mindset in the field of modern media.

Operating "Phoenix Drones" for filming and performance

Another technological highlight at the Tran Bien Countdown is the drone operations, including the "Phoenix Drone" used for aerial filming and performance. Students are responsible for preparing the equipment, conducting test flights, and calibrating flight paths within a crowded event space—a task that involves navigating numerous electronic devices and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Through this activity, students not only hone their skills in controlling high-tech equipment but also learn teamwork, procedural compliance, and professional discipline. The aerial shots captured not only provide stunning visual effects for the program but also serve as a testament to the technological mastery of LHU students.

Media updates on Fanpages and the official website

Parallel to the technical work on-site, students are tasked with updating information, photos, and videos regarding the preparation and live progress of the event across media platforms, including the official fanpage and website. This work is carried out continuously, following the program's pace to spread the Countdown atmosphere to the community.

Through these tasks, students practice digital communication skills, multitasking, and the coordination between content and technical execution. This experience also allows them to better understand the role of real-time communication in major events.

Real-world learning beyond the lecture hall

The Tran Bien Countdown is more than just a cultural event; it is a practical learning environment for LHU students. After being equipped with foundational knowledge through courses in multimedia, video production, sound engineering, livestreaming technology, and project management, students now have the chance to validate and apply that knowledge in a live setting.

Working under time pressure, managing a heavy workload, and requiring constant coordination helps students grow significantly in their professional skills, organizational thinking, and sense of responsibility. These experiences form a vital bridge between the lecture hall and the professional working environment.

Practical experiences help students enhance their coordination and teamwork abilities.

Affirming the "Learning by Doing" training model

The direct involvement of students in livestreaming, laser mapping programming, Phoenix drone operations, and media management for the Tran Bien Countdown clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the practical training model implemented by Lac Hong University. Students do not just learn theory; they engage in real work, face real challenges, and accumulate professional experience while still in school.

These activities continue to affirm the role of LHU students in community events while building a solid foundation for them to confidently enter the professional technology and media industry upon graduation.
