Skills and Professional Operations for Air Travel Tour Guides: Connecting Education with Real-World Practice

The Journey Behind a Smooth Flight Experience

A smooth flight experience is not solely the result of an airline’s service, but also the outcome of seamless coordination among many departments behind the scenes. Among them, tour guides for air travel tours play a vital role as the “central coordinators” of the entire journey.

On the morning of April 17, 2026, the Faculty of Administration - International Economics at Lac Hong University organized the seminar titled “Skills and Professional Operations for Tour Guides in Air Travel Tours” in Room B203 – Campus 1, attracting a large number of students majoring in Tourism and Travel Management.

Practical Knowledge – A Foundation for Future Careers

At the seminar, MBA. Pham Van Thanh – Deputy Director of Four Seasons International Travel Company – shared practical experiences that helped students gain a deeper understanding of the role of tour guides in tours involving air transportation. Beyond simply leading tour groups, tour guides are responsible for various important tasks such as organizing groups, coordinating with airlines, managing itineraries, and handling unexpected situations.

Through specific real-life examples, students were introduced to the tour organization process in a systematic way, from pre-departure preparation, check-in procedures, and baggage control to managing tour groups throughout the journey. In addition, practical scenarios such as flight delays, lost luggage, and passenger-related issues helped students better understand the pressure and professional requirements of the career.

Educational Orientation – Connecting Learning with Reality

Through activities like this, the Faculty of Administration - International Economics continues to affirm its educational orientation of connecting academic training with real-world practice, creating opportunities for students to approach professional environments while still at university.

Organizing seminars with the participation of businesses not only helps improve training quality but also contributes to developing highly qualified tourism professionals with strong expertise, practical skills, and readiness for international integration.

Although the seminar has concluded, the values and experiences it provided continue to inspire students, helping them gain a clearer understanding of their future career paths and preparing them for long-term professional development.
